"Alligator Alcatraz" Protest Report 7/1/25

Fuck the Proud Boys.

All we are asking is DUE PROCESS FOR ALL. This isn’t it.

Being an anti-fascist is like being in the Army. I was always getting woken up in the middle of the night, put in a plane, and then flown someplace for a training exercise. Last night, a chat group I'm in had some chatter: People were going down to "Alligator Alcatraz" to protest. It was very last minute and late...I was already three glasses of mead in at that point. But Drunk Me thought that sounded like a great idea. Let’s go on a mission! Unfortunately, we don’t set our schedule. The fascists do. So I couldn’t go when I wanted, I needed to be there for the opening today. It seems like some of our actions are like that. I put the mead away and went to bed at 2130.

Getting up at 0430 for a five hour drive is no damn fun, especially with a small hangover. I'd like to sit at home, drink coffee and play video games, but no, I got fucking Nazis to deal with. So I went down there with another Antifa member.

It was just over 5 hours there and just over 5 hours back with traffic on the shorter route. It’s been a long day today.

For those who don't know, “Alligator Alcatraz” is a hastily constructed facility located in the middle of the swamp, near lands that are sacred to the Miccosukee and Seminole tribes of Native Americans. It is being made into a concentration camp for migrants until they are deported. (Trump even mentioned deporting Americans through there today. Come at me, ya fat fuck.) It was going to be an airport, but the Miscosukee and Seminole tribes fought it for years due to the environmental damage it would cause. So the only thing that was there were some runways, and it sat empty. The government made it into a concentration camp.

The right loves this. The nickname “Alligator Alcatraz” is funny to them, because supposedly no one will escape because of the alligators. Yeah, haha fuckers. Someone who hasn’t even been convicted of a crime yet should die, huh?

Make no mistakes, people WILL die there.

The camp opened today. The first victims will be brought in tomorrow. President Krasnov and Obersturmführer Ron Desantis were there. EDIT: Ice Barbie Krisi Noem was there. Apparently Laura Loomer’s knees needed a break. This is what it looks like.

The Native American youth nearby this facility organized this. As we pulled up, there were about 100 protesters and organizers already there. I also immediately spotted ten or so Antifa. They were geared up, watching the crowd, doing their thing. Just like I do when I’m working security. It was good to see.

The organizers had a table set up for everyone to check in, get the schedule, learn where water and all that was, etc. For a bunch of kids (they looked to be 18-25 or so) they did an AMAZING job organizing this, and I want to thank them for allowing me to help protect their sacred land and protest the camp. (One of the organizers asked for my substack when I told them I was writing this up, so I hope they read this. It would be neat if a had a little cell of fans down there.)

After making sure everyone had water and used the bathroom and all that, they organized us into a line with road captains. We had a VERY narrow strip of road to walk on and couldn’t block the road. We had some great chant leaders that were loud as hell and kept it up for over two hours.

As we began our march to the concentration camp, a pickup truck with Trump and MAGA flags drove by. They spent the next hour (at least) driving by, waving their Trump hats out of the window, all while filming us on their phone. They would drive down one direction, turn around, and come back the other way. They are just like the losers in Ocala who circle the square in their trucks trying to intimidate us. I flipped them off a few times during the protest.

We got to the gates of the facility. There must have been at least a dozen news agencies out there. There were a whopping two Trump loving supporters there. They guy in the yellow and the guy in the white shirt and red hat. That was it. (Those women in red were press.) The entire time, the guy in the yellow was fairly confrontational - he kept walking over and waving his stupid Trump flag in our faces trying to get us to react. No one did. That other sack of shit just stood there behind his two sad signs the entire time.

If you have read my posts, you know I hate cops. But I will say this: The Collier County deputies were all very professional and were not assholes. They got a little heated with one guy on our side for walking in the road, but that’s because this guy was arguing. He settled down and they did too. Every cop I was near was polite but firm and were not dicks. That’s probably the nicest thing you will ever hear me say about cops. I still think ACAB though, but that’s another post. One guy patrolled up and down the road telling people “Get out of the road” over the loudspeaker. I kept telling him “Get out of our neighborhoods!” They didn’t even react to that.

As I was standing to take this picture below, a truck showed up with a delivery. They weren’t taking deliveries today, and he started arguing with the cop. The driver looked Hispanic and had a Hispanic accent from what I heard, so I started in on him a bit. “REFUSE THE LOAD NEXT TIME! REFUSE THE LOAD!” I don’t think he heard me, but he left in a huff. As did several other trucks trying to make deliveries. Yup, sounds like the federal government’s famous efficiency in action.

Take note of this below. It is hard to see, but down on the right is a HMMWV with a weapons mount and on the left is a fucking MRAP. Two military vehicles at the gates for what? US? Fucking clowns. But it is a concentration camp, so it shouldn’t shock me.

About an hour into it, we had a VIP show up. Enrique fucking Tarrio, leader of the terrorist/white supremacist group the Proud Boys. His Telsa with the Florida fascist “Don’t Tread On Me” plates pulled up, and he rolled down his window to ask someone where to park. I about broke my neck taking a second look - I knew I recognized that terrorist fuck.

The Proud Boys are violent and racist. He showed up with three others. As soon as I saw his face and recognized who he was, I went and notified the organizers. They were on the radio and notifying everyone immediately. They also started passing the word to protesters not to engage with them. I unfortunately didn’t get him on camera, but I’m damn glad I noticed him so we could warn everyone ahead of time. You never know what a terrorist and white supremacist might do.

Tarrio and his crew came walking up about 20 minutes later because they had to park farther back and walk. It was Tarrio, someone who I guess was a bodyguard for him the way he walked and acted, a fat old bastard in a brown shirt that said “ICE Immigration” (pictured below to the left) and some skanky looking woman. For being “Proud Boys” they looked pretty fucking sad really. Two of the organizers were walking ahead of them with bull horns saying "Do not engage with counter-protesters!" Fucking Nazis man, I can’t leave that alone. But I also want to be respectful of the Native Americans who are organizing and asked for help. So I didn’t say shit as he walked past.

They walked over to the two sad Trump supporters. The media swamped Tarrio, which is what he wanted. That’s all Tarrio wants. He is a narcissist like Trump. He thrives on attention. He spent the entire protest in front of a camera or microphone. He didn’t protest himself. He didn’t debate anyone. He just stood there looking smug. The only one really doing any protesting at all on their side was the guy in the yellow. Tarrio is an attention whore, that’s it. Oh, and this is your friendly reminder a Black church owns the Proud Boy trademark after winning a lawsuit. How funny.

By this point, I’m hot and need a break. The Everglades are hot as hell, and it isn’t even August yet. So I went to a shaded area to hydrate and talked to some folks, including some of the other antifa that were there. I wish we had a chance to chill and network a bit after, but that didn’t happen. After a short rest, I walked back up front. By now, Tarrio had moved over to stand in front of our crowd, but was talking to the reporters still. So he is answering questions in front of our crowd, and getting the attention he wants. Fuck that. I’m done being peaceful.

What I WANTED to do was punch him in the fucking face. What I WANTED to do was probably much worse than that. But no. Instead, I used words. What’s messed up is we had enough antifa there to kick their asses, but we had to be peaceful.

I walked over behind the reporters and started in on him. "Fuck you Tarrio! You're a fucking traitor! You’re a racist piece of shit." Shit like that, and I’m HOLLERING it. Then I attacked the media. “Why are you giving a platform to a fucking Nazi? Stop interviewing Nazis!” I went on like this for a good minute or so.

Then I said, "You run a white supremacist group and aren't even white you dumb fuck!”

I have a set of lungs on me. He heard all of that, but he REALLY heard that last line. He stopped whatever he was saying to the reporter and looked right at me. I let him have it again. "FUCK YOU TARRIO, YOU NAZI!" He kept staring at me. I was really hoping he would step up to me. I was amped up, but he didn’t take the bait. At that point, he moved his interview to "their" side and I went back to sit down for a bit.

The protest ended when the afternoon rains common to Florida in the summer arrived. As usual, it was torrential, and we drove probably 50 miles in the rain off and on.

All told, one truck with Trump flags driving around, three Proud Boys and a skank hanger on, and two Trump supporters. I got to cuss out Tarrio a couple of times and at the very least annoyed him. I’m not going to lie, that’s been a bit of a fantasy of mine. He is (unfortunately) a fairly significant figure in our society at the moment, and he needs to hear it over and over again. Nazis aren’t welcome here. So once again and as has been true all year long, Trump supporters show they are a bunch of bitches with no real convictions. We are turning out in numbers hundreds and even thousands of times larger than theirs. They can’t handle it and usually make threats or start violence. Surprisingly, none of that from them today. I’m kinda shocked to be honest. I was probably the most “violent” person there today just with my yelling.

We all got home safely. I found out later another antifa I know was there, but we didn’t even see each other. Lol. Antifa and protesters drove from all around the state during a weekday to protest this abuse of power and human travesty. Bonus, on the way out, I see where Tarrio parked his shitty Tesla, so I flipped it off. Maybe he will see it on the camera footage later. I would have vandalized the fuck out of his car, but they are covered in cameras, and there was a cop sitting right across the street at that intersection watching everything. When the rain started and he was walking back to leave, I made sure I gave him both birds. Fuck Tarrio, the Proud Boys, Nazis and other racists. Y’all suck. 161.
